The APEX WH-XXXX is recommended to neutralize corrosive, acidic water supplies. Acidic water can cause the leaching of unhealthy levels of copper from pipes and cause greenish-blue stains on fixtures, bath tubs and toilets. Copper and lead solder leaching (heavy metals) is a health issue for children and adults. Acidic water can drastically shorten the life of all water-using equipment, including dishwashers, washing machines and hot water heaters.
